After his extremely succesful time with Leedon Records Lonnie was enticed to go to HMV Records. His releases there were in both the Rockabilly and Country genre's and he wrote most of the songs himself.
The album, 'A Country Boy at Heart' proved the emphises HMV had on trying to open up the country areas to pop of the time. It was the first Australian Stereo album recorded at EMI 301 Studio when they were at their height.
His singles of that era are also included in this historic release.
In the late 1960's he recorded some singles in Sunshine records. These included a new very different versions of 'Starlight Starbright' and unreleased songs such as 'Yes Indeed I do' and a 'chicago' style version of 'I found a new love'. He wrote and recorded others such as 'The Traveller', 'I Bide my time' 'Hello Love' and 'Sad Over Someone' (SOS) which was his last Aussie #1.
