Because over his 60 plus years of recording he has never recorded a Christmas album, in his 80th year he thought it would be appropriate as a lasting legacy to his family, friends and fans.

The album features 11 well known Christmas songs to sing along with, plus 3 songs he wrote for the album and the Christmas song he write for Roy Orbison, 'Holy Christmas.

As there are countless Christmas albums by every recording star that ever lived out there, he didn't want to compete against these world famous orchestras and popular recording stars, so he decided to strip back the big productions and produce something uniquely him.

Only 3 people are on the album except for the guest back up singing by his wife Suzanne and grandson Henry 'Gaga' Grewal.

They are Lonnie and two of his Leemen, Brian Dean on guitar and Alan Freeman on bass.

To keep the production he wanted clean and simple, he decided against using any drum percussion so he Leemen's drummer Leon is not on the album, although they knew his spirit was with them in the studio.

Lonnie sings all the vocals including backups and plays guitar as well as engineering the sessions in his own studio.

It is uniquely him and fans of his voice and style will love the album.
